  1. Short: Knows and identifies over 70 different files in a device/directory

  3. ID 3.40

  5. ID when given a file as an argument will look at the file and try to
  6. identify that file from one of 73 known file types.  If the -e option
  7. is given then some extra information may be given about the file.
  8.  
  9. When ID is given a directory or device it will recusively search below
  10. that directory/device finding all files and trying to identify them.
  11. Again if the -e option is given then extra information will be given
  12. about all files that can be given extra information.  If the -r option
  13. is given then ID will not search recursively but only in that directory.
  14. If the -s option is given then the statistics will be toggled.  It is 
  15. normally on but is toggled when the -e option is given.
